Is Call of Duty Finally Listening to Player Feedback? Here’s What the Developers Say

The Warzone 2 player base has been vocal about their dissatisfaction with the current state of the game. Season 2 reloaded failed to bring enough change to excite players, but a recent call between content creators and developers has the streamers hyped for the future direction of the game (watch the full conversation on the “Pullze Check” podcast bellow). This blog post will cover some of the exciting changes that have been discussed in the conversation, as well as what it could mean for the game moving forward.

Raven Software Takes a Bigger Role in Development:

One of the first indicators of a change in direction is the inclusion of Raven Software as more than just a studio to help with communication. It seems that they are taking a bigger role in development and decision making in the game. This is important as they have proven they are capable of making right decisions that made the player base excited to play in the late days of Warzone 1.

Improvements to Movement and Weapon Balancing:

The developers also indicated that they intend on making the game feel more fluid and seamless. This could mean movement speed, animations, and mantling could all be improved upon. This is great news for the player base as every player prefers to be able to move around and game faster. Additionally, part of what made Warzone 2 so stale is the lack of choices when it comes to the meta weapons. However, there seems to be a commitment to faster updates and weapon balancing moving forward. This is great news as it can keep the game feeling fresh with new guns to try. We just hope that the updates are not too fast as that may impact the casual gamers who don’t have too much time to level up their gun and enjoy them before they get balanced and unusable.

One Shot Snipers May Be Making a Comeback:

One shot snipers were one of the most exciting guns to use in Warzone 1. For that reason, when Warzone 2 came out with none, that upset many players. During this call, there seems to be an indication of a change of heart when it comes to that decision. The creators are hinting at them coming back to the game as early as next season. This is great news for sniper lovers, we just hope that they are balanced properly so they take skill to use and as a result even more satisfying.

All these promised changes and many more seem to indicate a strong change in tone and direction of the game. Perhaps the player count has dropped significantly or the community pressure has finally paid off. With that being said, we are excited for the direction we are heading. Only time will tell if Warzone 2 can bring back the excitement and player base of its predecessor. Let us know what you think, is it too late for you to come back?
